Brendan has more than 30 years experience in the Brick and Block Industry. He has worked as a bricklayer in Ireland, England, New Zealand and across Australia. With more than 20 years’ Senior Management experience, being employed by two Australian major brick manufacturers for approximately 15 years. Brendan has also completed his Master of Business (MBA).

Mark has dedicated over 30 years to the building industry. One of Mark’s goals is to encourage and motivate more youth to acquire an apprenticeship so we can see our industry continue to grow into the future. Mark has a strategic plan to educate builders about the Bricklayer Contractors Australia (BCA) with commitment to drive growth and innovation within the construction sector.

Susan has had a long career across varied industries within the small business sector, gaining experience in operations, marketing, project management, acquisitions and bookkeeping. She currently runs her own business services and life story writing enterprises. Susan has worked with the BCA Accounts since March 2023 and focussed on ensuring tax and administrative compliance

Master Builders Association of NSW - Secretariat to Bricklayer Contractors Australia

Tracey has been employed by the Master Builders Association of NSW (MBA NSW) for eight years working Tuesdays – Fridays 8:30am – 5:00pm. Tracey administrates for two Industry Sectors: Bricklayer Contractors Australia (BCA) and the Metal Roofing and Cladding Association of Australia (MRCAA). Tracey supports the Executives and Members of both Industry Sectors by providing exceptional organisational skills.

Senior Commercial Business Development Manager – PGH Bricks & Pavers NSW

John has been involved with the BCA since 1997 and served as Executive Officer from 2003 to 2013. Primarily from a sales background, John has sold everything relating to the industry, including bricks, blocks, sand and cements through to wall ties, as well as bricklaying services. He has a basic knowledge of remedial and rectification work. Companies he has worked for include Aalborg, ABBTF, Austral, Boral, Brick & Block, Melcann, Statewide and Westox. John’s motivation for his work with the Association is to contribute to the continuance of a trade which has fed and clothed him for over 30 years.

Jennifer Braybrook

Masonry Division Manager – Leviat

Jennifer began her career with Leviat (Ancon) in the UK in 1999. In 2017 she seized the opportunity to bring her experience and skills to Leviat in Australia. In her role as Masonry Division Manager, she brings a wealth of masonry support and restraint experience to the industry. She shares her passion for brick buildings and supports others in creating them. Fun fact, she is also a qualified Zumba instructor.

Executive Officer – Director – Favetti Bricklaying

Orazio (Ray) Favetti is a qualified electrician and builder with extensive experience as an Executive and Director in multiple companies. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ray is passionate about architectural masonry and is dedicated to improving the relationships between masonry contractors, principal contractors, and government regulatory bodies. With over 40 years of experience in the industry, his expertise and knowledge will be highly valued.

Tim and his brother Dan established FUGEN (Bricklaying) in 1984, which Tim and Dan still operate today. Tim was a founding member of the MCA, under the leadership of ‘Jock’ Cameron (and John White). Tim is proud to still be involved with the BCA and the Brick and Block Industry

Executive Director – Conrina Masonry Pty Ltd

Con Zarafetas, founder of the Conrina Group, has been involved in the Brick and Block Industry for more than 30 years. His love for the industry manifests in his commitment in promoting the positive aspects that masonry delivers, through his involvement with the BCA. Con, an experienced Director, demonstrates an ability to grow organisations to be both financially and ethically sustainable, rewarding all stakeholders in the process. Con has a Graduate Diploma of Management from Macquarie University and has completed his Master of Business (MBA) at MGSM.

Simon Nott

Director – Banyula Masonry Construction Consultants

Simon has been in the Brick and Block Industry for over 45 years. He is a past president 2003 to 2006 and received Life Membership, along with the Alexander Fletcher Cameron (Jock) Award for outstanding contribution to the Bricklaying Industry in 2006. Simon is currently mentoring the businesses of several members, providing manufacturer members with product development and implementation, and head contractors and designers with Design Assist Services specializing in brickwork detailing. Simon brings a combination of broad industry, and specialized brickwork knowledge to the association.

Executive Committee Member

The Executive Committee provides the office bearers with opportunities to discuss their respective duties and to develop collegiality and team-work.

Executive Officer

The Executive Officer is responsible for overseeing Bricklayer Contractors Australia with regard to behaviour and cultural activities.

Executive Secretary

Assist Executive Committee as needed in providing service to members and management.

Member

All members have an important role to play in the Association.

Provide leadership to position the association at the forefront of the construction industry.

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing Bricklayer Contractors Australia with regard to legal and financial activities.

Social Media Co-Ordinator

Assist Executive Committee to engage contractors through social media platforms.
